Sea Island Station Moved to Hahira
The state board of entomology chose a tract on the northern edge of Hahira in Lowndes county for the Sea Island Experiment Station move. The old station site in Valdosta will be released from occupancy. Operations will continue at the new site with the business office remaining in Valdosta. The land on the National Highway was leased for one year with option for five.

Death Claims W. G. Hearon in Wreck Tragedy
W. G. Hearon known as Red died early Tuesday after a Sea board train collision at a Smithville road grade crossing while he and John Oliver were en route on a weeklong trip through South Georgia. Oliver, owner of Georgia Motor Co., remained improving at the city hospital where Mrs. Oliver has been with him. Hearon, 34, of Preston, Georgia, leaves a widow Bonnie Smith Hearon and daughter Mildred, with funeral services set from 130 West Church Street conducted by Rev. Guyton Fisher and interment in Oak Grove Cemetery. The Americas Lodge No. 752 BPOE will lead the graveside rites. The obituary notes Hearon’s parish ties, business presence, and wide local regard.

Bloodhounds Trail Escapees After Shootout Near Moultrie
