Washington November 21 attorneys and others for Grover Bergdoll said he will return to the United States from Germany if the government meets conditions that would grant him virtual immunity. Officials said they would not agree and must retain full discretion in dealing with Bergdoll upon his return.

Oklahoma City November 21 J P Walton former governor had his request for a restraining order to set aside the senate impeachment court verdict dismissed by Federal Judge Cottrell. Walton stated he would appeal to the United States Supreme Court.
Enoch Thrash gives himself up to Terrell county sheriff after the Monday killing of J. H. Kelly on a public road near Herod, five miles south of Dawson. Kelly was shot three times and died instantly as the grand jury convenes to consider indictment. Thrash alleges Kelly advanced with a pistol. Thrash fired with an automatic pistol.
State prohibition enforcement director Fred Dismuke said in federal court that illicit liquor manufacture in Georgia has decreased about seventy five percent over the past year. He addressed the session while awaiting trial on numerous criminal cases.
In Savannah a federal grand jury returned 40 to 50 liquor related indictments against about 126 defendants nationwide. In Yonkers New York Mayor Welter M Taussig was found wounded in a garage and died in hospital. he was brother of economist Frank W Taussig.
A powerful explosion at the army ammunition factory in a Santiago suburb killed several people and wounded more than 50, with many seriously hurt. Fire followed the blast but was controlled, and the workshops were heavily damaged as windows shattered blocks away. The detonation caused near panic among residents.
Opalika Alabama November 2 supporters of the convict leasing system urged churchmen at the Alabama conference of the Methodist Episcopal church to adopt a resolution arguing that comfortable jails would draw thousands to dodge work. The measure was defeated.

Howard Patrick, a Black man, was turned over by federal inspectors to state authorities for prosecution on a charge of cheating after analysis showed the powder he sold as dope was ordinary baking soda. Patrick was arrested last week after narcotics inspectors were informed he was selling narcotics on Auburn Avenue. He claimed no violation of the Harrison act and the analysis was conducted.
Mobile, Nov. 21. Discovery of a large quantity of liquor stored on the premises of the Prichard Baptist church Sunday prompted the congregation to pass resolutions urging federal officers to press the liquor crackdown. The church body said whisky had been sold and illegal houses operated openly in the suburban area and thanked federal agents for their effectiveness in enforcing prohibition.

Eugene V. Debs a veteran socialist leader is critically ill at his home in Terre Haute after a nervous breakdown following a nation wide speaking tour. Reports say his condition remains unimproved after a restless night and wife Mrs. Debs says she does not know when he will rise. Friends doubt he will recover.
C R Tughey was seriously burned Tuesday at his brother's planing mill three miles from Greensboro when a steam pipe exploded and hurled him against a wall. He suffered neck burns and a broken finger. He was alone in the boiler room and had to feel his way out through the steam.
R H McCrary, once cashier of Athens Bank & Trust and early Ty Cobb employer, died in New Orleans after an automobile accident. He had ties to Steam Radiator Manufacturing in Minneapolis and Royston links, with funeral in Royston. McCrary was brother in law to Athens resident Mrs F G Birchmore.

Arlington November 21 Work on the new $20,000 school plant for the consolidated Rowena and Hillside districts began under contractor H P McCowen of Fitzgerald Georgia. The brick one story building will include seven classrooms a spacious auditorium library and conveniences of an up to date rural school. About 160 pupils will be transported by two auto trucks.
Spokane dispatch reports county and federal officers fired on seven automobiles carrying liquor at Condon's Ferry on the Columbia River. One man, likely Sterling, was killed and others wounded. four liquor-filled cars were seized while other crew members escaped in the remaining vehicles.
