Late mail reports from Cartagena hint at a decisive clash between revolutionists and government troops in Bolivar province. General Rafael Uribe, leading rebels, was at Corogalan reorganizing for an advance on Quila and had absorbed many captured government troops. He reportedly seeks to march on coast ports, while General Ospina advances near El Carmen. Georgian Robbed of 5650 in Saloon Trick

K H Callaway, a Washington Georgia cattle raiser, was robbed of 550 at a downtown saloon after being invited by a stranger posing as a horse trader. The man, identified as B E Stanley of Nashville, befriended Callaway, accompanied him to a hotel, and disappeared with the money after the pair traveled together for the week.

Death From Cigarettes Claims 16 Year Old In Ga

Emanuel Haskins, 16, died in Famerscrx, Georgia, from blood poisoning linked to cigarette use. He had a sore under the lip from blowing a French harp, then smoked while inflamed. Doctors attributed nicotine poisoning from the cigarette as the fatal cause, describing severe pain and extensive facial swelling.

Death of Mrs Jesse James in Kansas Orry

Mrs. Jesse James widow of the bandit Jesse James died at her home in Kansas Orry after a long illness. Born 1844 near Kansas City she married James in 1874 at Oy Missouri. They had one son Jesse Jr now in business in Kansas City. She was with her husband when he was shot by Robert Ford near St. Joseph in 1881.

Omicaco November 13 A negro burglar forced entry to Mrs. Orrin W Potters home at 180 Lake Shore Drive after 1 AM and tried to chloroform her with a sponge. She awakened and screamed prompting a head blow with a slingshot rendering her unconscious. He escaped without loot as she identified a masked suspect, about 35, well dressed, likely intent on stealing thousands.

In New York on November 14 Edward A Treat, receiver for W. T. Strong & Co., reported he could not determine whether the firm is solvent.
