Richard 8. Molineux on Trial for Murder

The People v Roland B Molineux began in general sessions with allegations he sent poison via mail to Harry Cornish, a Knickerbocker Athletic Club instructor, in a dispute over club control. Cornish allegedly gave poison to Mrs Adams or Eva Rogers, causing Kate Adams to die from cyanide or mercury poisoning. The prosecution paused charges on Barnett and discussed transfer to supreme court as defense pressed for that route.

Major John A Logan Killed In Battle

A Washington cable reports Major John A Logan of the Thirty third U S volunteers was killed leading his battalion near San Jacinto during a fight with insurgents. He was born July 1865 in Murphysboro Illinois, attended West Point briefly, and leaves a widow Edith Andrews and two children. He previously served with General Bates in Cuba and earned the rank of major after gallantry at El Caney.
