Ed Gore deputy sheriff died and two others wounded in a shooting near Carrick Cove in Sparta late last night. Authorities reported an affray with gunfire ending in Gore's death and three injured total. Investigators said the incident began after a disturbance at a local location and remains under close inquiry by the sheriff's office.
Savannah, Nov 3. F C Benner, superintendent of the Savannah River Lumber Co at Gilmania South Carolina, was shot and killed in his office this morning by W R Thurston, former station agent. Thurston had been fired after complaints against him by the Benner company.
Havana November 3 General Gerardo Machado liberal candidate led General Mario Menocal conservative by 178 166 to 122 009 votes from 1 592 precincts early Sunday night. total 1 777 precincts reported Machado 156 152 liberal votes and 22 014 popular votes.
