Bryan's Last Day Campaign Push Across Nebraska

Seven o'clock Monday morning found William Jennings Bryan on the special train leaving Lincoln for his final day of campaigning. In Seward, a Republican town, he received a respectful, attentive reception despite yellow party badges, denouncing bonds and urging farmers to value straw over gold. At Aurora he spoke briefly, predicting Nebraska's support and noting that western states could elect him even if some odds appeared against Illinois or the Midwest.

Tragedy at Funeral as two whites slain on burial ground

In Ous ley district two brothers Len and Ansil Phillips encountered Tom Wood and Rob Gilford. Wood fired on Phillips killing him instantly and threatened Ansil. The setting was near a graveyard during a funeral. Meanwhile in New York a trolley panic killed Lambuster Anglo and injured Lincoln Guiseppi and three others after smoke from a blown motor scared riders.

Pleasant day promised by weather bureau for election

The Weather Bureau issued a special election day bulletin from Washington on November 2 forecasting fair and pleasant weather overall with variable conditions. Snow in parts of the Plains and upper Midwest contrasts with generally fair outlook elsewhere, and officials suggest weather will not deter voters unless a severe storm develops on the Pacific coast.

Aroused McAuliffe's ire ends in rough fight

In San Francisco on Nov 2 Jack McAuliffe and Jimmy Carroll argued at Barny Farley's roadhouse over a business matter. After loud words they clinched in a rough bout but no serious injuries were reported. The bout was paused and rescheduled for the end of the month. The clash followed McAuliffe's irritation over Carroll's remarks and a disputed condition prior to the crowd.

President to Receive Election Returns at White House

The report states President Cleveland will not return to the White House on election day. The White House party prepares to receive returns with key officials attending. Treasury officials have left to vote and other officials departed for assignments, including Morgan and a revenue bureau commissioner heading to West Virginia.
