A flood of colonists from Missouri and Nebraska arrived in Americus aboard a special G and A train bound for the Fitzgerald colony in Wilcox County. The Georgia and Alabama Railway will aid arrival and onward travel to the land opening for settlement. General Passenger Agent Pope leads information campaigns with pamphlets mailed across the Northwest.
The House passed Dodson’s bill to raise juror pay to $2 per day matching traverse and tales jurors. Senator Davis pushes a bill creating the lieutenant governor with coinciding terms and a future election, plus a joint committee to study penitentiary concerns for the governor.
Albert Major, a prominent county figure, was found not guilty of robbery after a plan to trap burglars backfired when he was mistakenly held as a suspect. He aided investigators by foiling a Richland store burglary, helping capture 0128 or more thieves, but the jury cleared him of all charges.

The Lord Erne steamship cleared from Brunswick for Liverpool as the largest loaded southbound vessel on the route between Baltimore and New Orleans. It carried 14,020 bales of cotton, 180 tons of cotton seed, 750 tons of phosphate, and 10,000 feet of poplar wood, valued at $504,143.
A district grand jury has returned an indictment against Miss Elizabeth Flagler, daughter of Gen. D M Flagler, for manslaughter in the August shooting of Earnest Green, a young colored boy found under a pear tree near the Flagler residence. She is held on $10,000 bond.
Burglars blew three town safes at Folsom & Gregorys depot and at Southern Express depot and J H Redmond’s shop, netting about 3250 with little remaining security.
