A massive May 28 storm hit St Louis and East St Louis with tornado, wind, rain, and fire. Reports indicate at least two hundred dead in St Louis and many more injured across the region, with property losses in the millions and the mayor among the killed. The cyclone, following a earlier tornado near Moberly, ravaged multiple wards, toppled buildings, and left streets and riverside areas strewn with debris.
