142 Persons Killed by Accident in 1923 Georgia
Atlanta May 20 During 1923 there were 142 persons killed in steam railroad accidents in Georgia, up from 92 in 1922, per the Georgia Public Service Commission annual report to Governor Walker. Fourteen deaths occurred in street railroad accidents in 1923, versus 15 in 1922. Deaths by steam railroads in 1923 include 1 passenger, 31 employes, and 110 other persons. 1922 figures were 5 passengers, 23 employes, and 64 other persons. Street railroad deaths involved no passengers or employes in either year.
