Local ad touts fall price cuts on cloth yard goods towels and linings. It features reduced rates on furkiah bath towels 20 per yard, seamless black hose, jeans drawers, window shades, and assorted soaps and sewing items with bold claims of value.

A major blaze on Decatur Street in Atlanta burned a small restaurant and spread to adjacent buildings destroying a large block. One man, W. T. Zachry, a Negro, died in the flames and about 40 others were saved. property loss estimated at $500,000, most uninsured. Panicked crowds watched as the Markham House burned, oil stored nearby sparked new flames, and rebuilding was to begin immediately.
