Macon companies will send about 1,120 men to the state encampment at Chickamauga in June. Col. Wiley’s Second Georgia Regiment will muster around 600 troops, with other companies from Macon totaling near 350. A circular from Atlanta outlines transport, tents, cook sheds, medical facilities, and per diem for personnel, plus provisions for forage and rations by money.
