James L. West, a well known young farmer of Sumter, died at his DeSoto home Friday night after a fever lasting one week. He leaves a wife and two small children. He is a brother of Joe P. West of the city, Gus West of De Soto, and Mrs. Emma Bass and Mrs. Ella Morgan of this city. The remains will be brought here for interment in Oak Grove cemetery with funeral services at 3 o'clock this afternoon.
