May Day fete honors babies with large attendance

Three white convicts caught after Barnesville escape
Three white convicts who fled Pike county chain gang in Barnesville were captured near Americus by Deputy Sheriff Ton Summers with a bloodhound. A $50 reward was offered for each man. The Chevrolet used in the escape was recovered. They surrendered when found resting in a woods area and were jailed in Americus awaiting Pike county officers.
