A special report from Seville describes a deadly confrontation in a barber shop on the S A M road near Cordele. Tom Hardin fired on E. L. Edenfield wounding him, then shot Town Marshal Loyd after Loyd tried to aid. Loyd died. Edenfield later died or survived with possible fatal injuries. Hardin escaped with his brother as armed locals pursued him. The town mobilized a posse and sent telegrams for bloodhounds.
