City officials discuss renewing the 5 mill emergency tax levy set to expire this year. Peggy Lanier Granted Alimony In Sealed Verdict

Macon May 3. Mrs Peggy Lanier was awarded 40 dollars a month alimony against Sidney Lanier of Macon in a Superior court sealed verdict opened this morning. Lanier must pay alimony permanently unless Mrs Lanier remarries.

France Rejects German Reparations Proposals

Paris May 3 The French cabinet unanimously rejected the new German reparations proposals citing lack of guarantees and insufficient sum. Premier Poincare will consult Belgium on the reply before it is sent to Germany and shared with the allies. France and Belgium after informal talks remain opposed to Germanys proposals.

Dr Fort to lead malarial aid campaign in county

Dr Fort will be detailed to Americus during the week of May 7 to assist in the malarial and dengue campaign for the city and county. He will lecture at county schools on eliminating the mosquito, with a largely educational campaign that complements the mosquito elimination commission. Dr Abercrombie notes the season is open and delaying work could lower results. The state health department will provide malarial literature via the Chamber of Commerce.
