Sheriff to issue warrants for autoists with 1923 tags

Sheriff Lucius Harvey announced that no more license tag applications will be approved in Sumter County. Warrants will be issued for automobilists operating cars with 1923 tags, with cases to be heard in the City Court of Americas. Special taxes delinquent 20 percent penalty assessed

The state now collects delinquent special taxes with a 20 percent penalty. Taxes unpaid after May 1 transfer to the state tax department for audit and collection. Senate Agrees To Insurance Bonus

The Senate without a record vote adopted the soldier bonus insurance bill as agreed with the House conferees. The measure, effective March 1, was criticized by Senators Underwood and Reed. Washington May 2 Judge Kennesaw Mountain Landis spoke to the Daugherty committee offering views on prohibition enforcement and federal administration. Education standard must be passed prof Phelps tells

Dr Shelton Phelps educator of Nashville Tenn asserted before the Georgia Educational association that Georgia must provide educational advantages comparable to other states to develop its potential. He noted Georgia spends very little per capita on all state expenditures including education and that education represents a relatively large fraction. The speech titled Financing Public Education in Georgia was prepared for delivery in Savannah on May 2.
