Death of W A Dodson Baffles Georgia Nation in Special Town
William A Dodson a prominent Georgia lawyer aged 59 was found dead in his home bathroom in Americus this morning from natural causes likely a paralytic stroke. He served in state legislature and as senator, authored the Dodson insurance act, and helped establish gas and electric service. Survived by widow Mrs Martha Lewis Dodson two daughters Georgia B Dodson and Mrs Augustus Sparks a son William A Dodson Jr and a grandson Jn Sparks along with brother J G Dodson. Funeral at 3:30 pm Thursday at South Lee street with Rev James B Lawrence officiating Oak Grove cemetery burial. He was born May 12 1864 in Marion County and educated at the University of Georgia class of 1882.
