In Vasiixoron March 22 Special Interest in free coinage of silver surged in the House as members and press crowded galleries. Bland and Tracy led silver forces while anti silver supporters pressed arguments. A point of order paused the bill but the chair allowed full committee debate and evening sessions for the silver measure.
A East Americas Methodist clerk who sells liquor to patrons at his brother’s grocery faces expulsion after his pastor demands he quit serving behind the bar. He tries to avoid both dismissal and unemployment as he battles the dilemma. The Windsor Hotel in Newnan nears opening with grand interior work nearly complete and praised as a major southern edifice. Hon. W Atkinson reports Col. J H Estill will join the national committee, effective May 18.

In Sumter county at Shiloh, Alliancemen Wilson and Burkhalter urged harmony and industry, urged support for a Democratic platform, and warned members to attend primaries. Burkhalter discussed taxation, bondholders, and a proposed bank stock in Jones with cheaper money prospects for prosperity.
Two street cars will reach Americus today and, if no delays occur, will be in service Friday morning. Superintendent Fondo reports readiness from Macon and a shipment that should have cars running within a week, per Mr Fouche.
The Interstate Commerce Commission will meet in Atlanta on Thursday to hear cases affecting long and short haul clauses on through freight.
