In Piedmont 18 miles north of Hamilton Alabama Mac Amberson, 18, shot and killed his father after a dispute. The elder Amberson, struck with a stick, was shot in the groin and died instantly. The Amberson family is prominent in the area and the quarrel arose from domestic matters.

In Louisville court today the conspiracy charges against W. Greer Campbell E G Bennett and Wilbur Beaty Denver capitalists were dismissed on motion. The men faced a 60 000 damages suit for alleged blackmail connected to land purchases from defunct Cumberland Land and Commonwealth Land companies. A satisfactory settlement was reached.
