The advertisement extols Syrup of Figs as a pleasant remedy for kidney and liver cleansing. It claims to dispel colds headaches fevers and habitual constipation. It says the product is unique in taste and gentle yet effective with agents supplied by reputable druggists at standard prices.
A violent murder case unfolds in Haris with Austrian Mary Hermann linked to a missing ex jobmaster named Stevens. Police found the victim’s battered body in a heavy trunk in Hermann’s room on Grafton Street. Hermann, 60s, faces charges as a possible accomplice.
