In Atlanta on March 20 eight of 75 counties have surpassed their quotas in the Georgia Cotton Growers Cooperative Association drive. By Saturday noon 15,000 bales had been signed, entering the semi-final “Follow-up Week” toward a state goal of 200,000 bales. Franklin County leads with 12,000 bales, while Hart Banks Wheeler Clay Dodge Clarke Franklin and Bulloch have also topped their targets as the campaign extends to April 1. The effort relies on 1260 farmers joining the regular organizers to push toward victory Week results and sustain the sign-up machine.
