Rail work advances on S A M road near Montgomery
The local paper reports rapid progress on the S A M railway with track layers near McLemore’s place eight miles from Montgomery. The construction crew has built two side trestles on Mardi Be Scott’s property and camps there, signaling a depot likely at that site for Mt Meigs residents. The Western railroad accommodations are poor and citizens await completion and a convenient schedule.
