Martinsburg West Virginia on June 24 reports G E Speight, a farmer wanted for the killing of state policeman A C Crawford, was shot to death by a posse after barricading in a barn for over six hours. He died shortly after being found fatally wounded. Lieut M B Lilly was lightly wounded.

Rome June 24 John Ross formerly of Rome now of Atlanta and Howard Jones Rome youth faced assault charges filed by two Rome girls and their parents. They were taken to Summerville for trial yesterday Jones was acquitted Ross is held. Initial charges included kidnapping and bonds set at 500 dollars before reassessment.
