Final dividend paid on Bank of Southwest Georgia assets

Checks representing a 48 1 2 percent dividend were mailed to about five hundred depositors of the defunct Bank of Southwest Georgia four years after its failure. Total dividends reach 48 1 2 percent with around 100000 dollars in deposits, and remaining assets are minor. Litigation against directors to recover 75000 dollars was sustained in favor of the directors by the Supreme Court, ending any recovery for depositors. The case, filed November 6, 1917, lists Chas. J. Ansley, W. E. Brown, W. A. Dodson, N. M. Dudley, Thomas Harrold, H. R. Johnson, A. A. Arrington as defendants. Proceedings indicate winding up of the bank’s affairs will finish soon.
