Negro Miners Shot Down at Evansville

Mob executes accused assailant near Scranton Mississippi
A Black man named Dantel Patrick was captured in Scranton on Tuesday after abducting and assaulting Miss Bessie Ireland near Scranton on Pascagoula road. He confessed, was hanged by a mob at an oak near the depot, and died within minutes as the crowd dispersed. Ireland rests easy today.
