Milwaukee June 13. Rev J T Brabner Smith of Chicago told the Associated Advertising Clubs that the secular press is untrammeled fair and sound and a great ally of the Christian church He urged churches to fund publicity and buy space in papers to announce services with the same energy as merchants. He praised press independence, discussed advertising in churches and noted examples of successful church advertising including a Detroit pastor who built a large congregation with outlays of 1500 dollars. He warned editors and preachers alike to avoid propaganda and urged clear concise church articles.
