Buenos Aires June 5. The steamer Vil la Franca sunk yesterday on the Panama river near Posadas where the river forms the Argentina Paraguay boundary. Eighty persons are believed to have perished in the disaster.
Mrs Frank Harrold, sailing May 13 from Montreal, sent cards from Europe. One card dated May 24 from Rhyl Wales shows the boyhood home of Premier David Lloyd George at Llanystumdwy. Mrs J J Walters departed Saturday for Memphis to stay with Mr and Mrs L P Walters and inspect relatives. She will be guests for an extended period and plans to visit local interests during her stay.
Rudolph Valentino, famed for romantic hero roles, was freed as the bigamy felony complaint was dismissed after a preliminary hearing before Justice Handy due to insufficient evidence.
The state board of entomology will offer calcium arsenate weevil poison at 9 cents per pound, sold from a railroad car in Americus on Tuesday June 6. Packages available in 25 100 and 200 pound lots. The car will also stop at Preston on Wednesday and Richland on Thursday.
Congressman Chas R Crisp of Americus announces re election to the Third Georgia district in the 68th Congress subject to the Democratic primary on September 13 1922 He cites his record in Congress as the basis for his future course and says he will return to the district to report his stewardship after adjournment He is a member of the Ways and Means Committee and is regarded as a heavyweight in the House with broad support and no announced opposition.

A similar case against Jay Hiallman was dismissed after Lumpkin was involved in a barge at a Cotton Avenue store run by Gleason Annette Saturday evening when loud talking led to a scuffle.
The Supreme Court, in the Coronado Coal case, ruled that labor organizations are not exempt from Sherman act prosecution and may be liable for property damages. Chief Justice Taft delivered the opinion, stating unions can face liability in anti trust actions.
John L. Phillips of Georgia announced he would return to Washington to demand a hearing on charges for which a warrant has been issued. He claimed he knew nothing about the charges.
United States Commissioner Hitt issued a war fraud warrant for J L Phillips chairman of the Georgia Republican National State Committee. The case involves alleged fraud in war contract lumber disposals by Phillips and Stevens. Phillips, a Thomasville resident with timber holdings, also has homes and business in Philadelphia.
Henry Ford indicated privately he would run for president if the people desire him but would not spend money to seek nomination or election. William Kronberg, editor of the Dearborn newspaper Ford's weekly, relayed the remark.
In Washington on June 5 a bill authorizing Secretary Weeks to negotiate a sale and lease to Henry Ford for the Muscle Shoals properties under Ford's offer, amended by the house military committee to remove the Gorgas plant, will be introduced soon by Acting Chairman McKenzie. A second bill to include the G gas plan will be introduced by Congressman Wright of Georgia.
