A Tuskegee merchant Hugh Robinson shot himself in his parlor this morning over debt troubles. He died within two hours. A native of Hogansville Georgia he married in town twelve years ago and leaves a wife and a ten year old son. He had been churchgoing and despondent over business.

In Americus last night Uriah B Harrold of Americus and W P Harrold of San Francisco met for the first time, greeting relatives from Mason, New York and California. W P Harrold, a partner in Williams Peck Co of San Francisco, plans a busy tour through New Orleans Tampa Key West and Cuba before visiting family in Americus and Richmond on his return trip to New York.

The Amanous soldier boys plan to move to the encampment at Chimanga on June 22. Americus Light Infantry will present an appearance equal to a company in camp with Capt Bagley in command and a full officers’ cadre. In Macon the Americus company will join other Second regiment companies, leaving East Tennessee road at 12 30 p m June 23. The route to Macon over Southwestern or A M and East Tennessee is undecided, and a special Central train may alter plans to Rome or Chattanooga. If the Helena route is chosen, many friends will accompany the company. In Liberty Hall last night, the freedom anniversary was celebrated quietly with speeches. Elbert Head wore cotton pants and a yellow apron like the day he was freed, a ritual he repeats each June 1.
