Freak of lightning at Mr. G. T. Anthony's place four miles from Washngton Georgia kills Tom Robinson while plowing. A bolt struck a large tree sheltering the mule and man tearing the brim from the man's hat. no other injuries noted.
Robert Garrett, former president of the Baltimore and Ohio Railway, died at his Deer Park cottage after chronic nephritis. Once a hopeful but long time mental invalid, his condition worsened last week, and he passed away peacefully with his wife by his side. Funeral arrangements expected in Baltimore on Saturday.
Major and Mrs. McKinley departed for Canton at 11 35 am on the Cleveland Canton and Southern road. They wished to stay for the Western Reserve Day parade of the Centennial celebration but engagements in Canton prevented it. The president said he felt refreshed after quiet rest at Windemere.
Citizens of Key West and Florida ask state department intervention to address opedition. Bart Green, a Black man, hanged at Jackson for the murder of Miles P. Mitchell near Whiteville in December. Green proclaimed innocence as the fall of the trap occurred at 10:66.
