The body of William Jennings Bryan started its trip to the capital from Dayton Tennessee as a bronze casket was moved to a special Pullman car. Mrs Bryan followed in a car with her chauffeur and Bryan's secretary as the train departed at 9 03.
The funeral party arrived at 10 15 where the public may view the remains of the late statesman aboard a special Pullman. The car was transferred to a fast Southern train bound for Washington, expected to arrive early Thursday.
Atlanta July 29 An amendment proposal would authorize a gross sales tax of one half of one percent on all gross sales and a statewide registration of all sellers in real estate goods wares merchandise or other value.

In Richmond on July 29 Rudolph Disse 18 shot and killed Mrs Vivian Tomlin Peers and H G Carter after her arraignment on charges by Disse. Willis Britt was seriously wounded in the auto accident. Detective Sergeant J Harvey Burke died from his wounds. Disse fled but was arrested later by a traffic officer who stopped the moving car.
Forty seven members of the Companions of the Forest of Brooklyn rode a large bus when it overturned in Tarrytown New York last night. Twenty people were injured enough to require hospital care.
Atlanta July 29 Twenty one bills were introduced in the House today. One by Representative Lewis of Colquitt would regulate cigar and cigarette dealers. The measure would require a license fee from 25 to 75 dollars based on business volume, in addition to existing cigar and cigarette taxes.
