Big Theater Fire Sparks Stampede at Ramonia Park
A July 24 blaze at the Casino summer theater in Ramonia park caused a panicked rush as about 600 spectators fled after a fireworks on stage started the tar paper roof burning. Ed G Bourne's company performed The Streets of New York to a crowd of women and children, with many injured while trying to escape and several seriously burned.
