Clay Wins Golfing Novelty in Cross Country Event

Henry Clay won the men’s section with a net 911-2 at the Americas Golf club novelty event played over an altered 18 hole course. Atlanta July 21 Judge Dick Russell who paid his entrance fee in the race for chief justice against Judge W H Fish has not yet made a formal announcement and there is doubt he will. He has received little encouragement in his effort to oust a member of the court who has sat on the bench for 25 years and served as chief justice for 17 years.

Wrennick Cleared by Jury in Bank Embezzlement Trial

H. J. Wrennick former cashier of the Bank of Py Wy in Tift Superior Court was found not guilty after a two day trial. Prosecutors alleged a four thousand dollar embezzlement with audits showing shortfalls over five thousand dollars. Wrennick testified denying any shortage and blamed directors for illegal overdrafts and poor management.
