On or about July 15 the stock of goods will be moved to the Americus Jewelry Company building at 421 Jackson Street. Dry goods clothing shoes hats gents furnishings and more offered cheaply to clear unsold stock before moving. Bargains touted as easier to buy than sell and to sell than move.
Entire stock of Cordette and figured P. K fabrics marked down to low prices. English Percales and Madras, Ginghams, Dimities, and Whites reduced for cash. Lot of Imperial Organze and Hamburg Edging offered at substantial cuts. Credit purchases not discounted. prices revert to regular rates.
Gents offers 5 ply linen collars at 15 cents each and $1.50 per dozen. Entire neckwear stock including tecks puds and ties discounted. Biglot of 500 neckwear at 25 cents. Negligee shirts reduced. white shirts closeout. Dimity negligee shirts sizes 16 and 16 1/2 cheap at 100 dollars.
The store announces closeout of Crash Suits to quit the line plus a complete Cassimere and Worsted Suit selection and Blue Serges. New Onur Shoe stock offered at 10 to 25 percent below market. All departments feature greatly reduced prices, with no old stock.
Middlesex County bank of Port Hamilton New Jersey closes its doors as cashier Edward M Valentine is reported missing with about 110000 in bank funds. Police say he left Ocean Grove Monday and cashed 3000 to 5000 in New York, while expert accountants review his books to determine the shortage.
Cincinnati July 18 The casting plant at the Addyston pipe and steel foundry near North Bend was gutted by fire last midnight destroying the large stone casting building the ovens and cranes. Two hundred workers were at the works when the blaze started after 11 o clock and the Addyston volunteer brigade contained the fire by 2 am. Loss estimated at 400000, well insured.
American newspaper correspondents in Manila urged General Otis to relax press censorship and allow uncensored telegraphs to the United States. They met Otis after drafting a statement asserting that home dispatches misrepresent field conditions and that censorship harms public understanding.
A message from Ishkooda ore mines reports a non union Negro miner died and several wounded in an ambush set by strikers three weeks after Robinson Mining Company hired new labor from Georgia. A sheriff's posse arrived and order was restored.
The Young People's Christian Union opened its session in Lynx Mass with General executive reports. President Fowler noted a decline in work and urged encouragement for junior societies. The treasurer reported receipts 3468 and expenditures 3460. Rev W H McGranflin of Atlanta presented Southern missionary work.
In Clay County Kentucky on July 19 a feud flare up left three dead Aaron Morris, Harvey Griffin and Hugh Griffin were buried at the Philpot graves. The Philpots muster around 100 armed men while the Morrises Griffins Chadwells prepare for further skirmishes three others were severely wounded and a local man Pat Bowers was killed in nearby Lexington county. An tornado and storm damaged Glenmora Louisiana wrecking a Methodist church and a drug store but injures were minimal.
