Two Deaths in Plains Honor Respected Citizens J W Law and J Lansford
In Plains Georgia on July 14 Special report chronicles the deaths of two esteemed locals Messrs J W Law and Joseph Lansford who passed last night the 13th age sixty and ten each. Law was a Primitive Baptist member and Lansford a Methodist. Both lived long useful lives and are remembered for their service to the community.

Plains cotton sold out at Plains warehouse in Georgia
Plains, Ga dated July 14 reports the Plains warehouse sold all on hand at 12 1 8 cents per pound, netting a little over 60 dollars per bale. The 320 bale lot brought between 19 and 20 thousand dollars. Notables receiving bales include Dr. B. T. Wise with 258 bales, Dr. George H. Harber with 30, D. S. In Williams Cross Roads on July 14 improvements and fine crops are noted as near time for harvest. A barbecue at the Williams pavilion drew a smaller crowd due to weather but was enjoyed. Death of John Law at Williams Cross Roads
Special to Times-Recorder reports the death of John Law at Williams Cross Roads on a July night from paralysis. The elderly resident had appeared well earlier in the day, then suffered a sudden stroke and died within minutes. He had long lived in the Seventeenth district.
