A self styled savings society led by Jacob Minold lured members with a wooden safe housing an iron box and a false combination. On a planned July 4 opening the two keyholders and a fourth woman learned the trick enabling Minold to pocket about 150 dollars while secretary books showed 13. The president was jailed after police recovered the contraption weighed about 1000 pounds.
