More Sumter Stock Shipped by George O Marshall
Two freight cars of Sumter county livestock were sold this week by county agent George O Marshall. One car mixed cattle and hogs held 25 cattle and 25 hogs, shipped to a Columbus abattoir. Cattle were supplied by R D McNeill Sam Hays and C M Hale. hogs by Hale. The other car carried hogs from eight farms, totaling 69 large hogs and several pigs, shipped to South Carolina. Hog price 6 cents per pound. pigs sold by the head at 4 dollars each for 32 pound shoats.
