Seaboard Air Line introduces Atlanta Special with no extra fare

The Atlanta Special becomes a solid vestibuled train operating daily except Sunday on the Hay Line from Atlanta to Washington and to New York. Through service to Charleston via Columbia continues, with tickets available at ticket offices. General Manager J. Winder and officials announce the new schedule and fares.

Chapman Convicted in Sugar Investigating Case

Elverton R. Chapman of Moore and Schley was found guilty for refusing to answer Senate sugar investigation questions. SEREGMENT OF REGULAR ARMY SERGEANT ATTEMPTS SUICIDE ON TRAIN

Charles H L Anders a sergeant in company E twenty third regular army regiment stationed at Clarke Texas attempted to kill himself on an eastbound Cloverleaf train near Frankfort Indiana as it stopped at the depot. He slashed his throat with a razor and died likely from his wounds despite attempts to save him. A note found on his collar stated I would return for trial but prefer death to the dishonor of wearing stripes. He had been in the service since 1880 and his home is Buffalo New York with about 400 in his pockets.

Pardon Said Imminent for Atlanta Bank Embezzler

President Cleveland reportedly plans to pardon Lewis Redwine, former Gate City National cashier in Atlanta, currently imprisoned in Ohio for bank embezzlement, on grounds of failing health. Dr W T Rowles says Redwine cannot survive his term and is rapidly breaking down.

Woman reveals crime in suicide note from Fort Worth

Mrs Lucy Clemens, distraught and facing strain, committed suicide in Fort Worth Texas after writing letters accusing her lover and another woman of conspiring to murder her husband for a $2509 life policy.
