Plan for Reorganization of Georgia Central Railroad and Banking Company

Cotton mill profit boosts Columbia town pride and plans for Americas

The Columbia Alabama cotton factory, opened July last year, paid a 5 percent dividend on its $60,000 capital and nearly 33 percent net earnings in six months after reinvesting in new machinery. Snow and Ice Paralyze Americus on Lee Birthday Holiday

A heavy early morning snow, sleet, and freezing rain swept Americus and much of the state. Streets became slick and impassable while business halted.
