Death of Mrs Julia Wheatley at Americus

The obituary recounts the death of Mrs Julia Kendrick Wheatley at her Americus home on Sunday morning at 7. She was born in Fort Valley in 1846, married Thornton Wheatley in 1864, and lived a life of faith, charity, and church work. The funeral was held at the Baptist church with Dr Campbell speaking, and she is laid to rest at Oak Grove cemetery. Pallbearers listed include J. Eldridge, S. Hawkins, A. Harrold, J. Sheffield, W. Dudley, G. Stapleton, J. Shaw, and M. Strange.
