Welbur Smith Stricken Sudden in Chicago
Mrs. W. D. Smith received a long distance message Friday night announcing the serious illness in a Chicago hospital of her son Welber Smith who was attacked suddenly with rheumatism of the heart. Grave fears are entertained for his recovery. Howell Smith accompanied his mother to Chicago. Welber, once in Americus, had been in Chicago the past year preparing for the Chautauqua platform and had sung in church choirs there. Late last night hospital said he was resting quietly.
