White man fatally wounds man during hunt near Kinder Lou

In Valdosta on January 9 a Black tenant John Davie fatally wounded a man described as a perfectly white Black person during possum hunting. Davie’s dogs treed a masked animal, and after shining the eyes he struck the animal, later realized he had killed a person. The skin is stuffed for exhibition, first of its kind in the area.

George Harvey American ambassador to Great Britain narrowly escaped death in an automobile accident at Cannes. Flyers arrive from Chicago to map Muscle Shoals project

Capt J A Yonge and I W Akers of Chicago, two professional flyers, landed at Souther Field from Chicago on a British Avro with four aboard. They flew from Camp Benning via Montgomery with the Second air squadron in formation, then to Alabama for preliminary mapping of Muscle Shoals for Ford interests. They will wait until Wednesday morning to hire passengers before likely returning to the project area for a larger aerial mapping job.
