Mesdames Camp of Yatesville and Jere Hollis of Americus visit DeSoto and return home after days with relatives. Several locals plan moves and visits to Athens Americus and Atlanta. Residents send best wishes for Mrs. Ann Wilson recovering from a fall while others host guests and travelers in town.
Plains Ga January reports a six o clock dinner hosted by Mr and Mrs R B Oliver with thirty guests from Dawson Bainbridge and nearby towns. The Merry Widow Club hosted a party at the Dean hotel for local youths with decorated halls and a fruit salad. Mrs H J Williams and Miss Martha Baldwin visit Mrs James Persons at Doyle. Maggie Williams resumes school at Ebenezer after vacation. Charlie Baldwin of Talbotton visits parents over holidays. Susie Beckham resumes duties as musical instructor at Crisp Institute. Mrs Clifford Rainey visits Americus. Mrs J R Jordan and Mrs Harry Dixon visit Buena Vista. Genial Tim Furlow arrives by car from Americus. Mr and Mrs Carl Murphy visit Ed Bridges on College street. Miss Warren of Texas guests at Dr H S Meroe’s home.
Leslie Ga January 6 Leslie High School opened Monday with a good attendance. Several residents visited relatives during holidays and many students and staff were noted leaving for other towns and colleges in the region.
