A new line at Allen and Sheffield's in Americus invites shoppers to preview Organdie fabrics on Monday morning. The ad highlights Silk Figured Djalmattes as a novel silk and cotton blend for waists at 25 cents per yard and Silver Star Madras Cloth praised as an elegant option for ladies waists, children's garments and men’s shirts. Numerous other fabrics are advertised as well.
Louisville February 25 fire gutted the National Tobacco company warehouses at Twenty fourth and Main, burning the sprawling complex and trapping three workers. Loss estimated at one million dollars, fully insured, with repairs expected. Two injured men and two who leapt to escape sustained serious injuries.
