Bishop Cleland Nelson Ordained as Georgia Episcopal Bishop
In Atlanta on February 24 Rev Cleland Kinloch Nelson was ordained and consecrated bishop of the Georgia diocese at St Luke’s Cathedral with bishops Quintard Lyman and Coleman officiating and sermon by St Luke’s dean Rev Robert Barrett. Present were numerous clergy and lay observers from Georgia and nearby states. Concurrently at the Industrial Conference in St Louis, Ignatius Donnelly’s preamble to the platform was read and debates over prohibition and women’s suffrage dominated. The People's Party committee discussed endorsements and possible national convention sites in Birmingham, St Louis, or Indianapolis.

Stockholders of the Albany Florida and Northern railroad lease the line to Savannah Americus and Montgomery for an indefinite term. Bonds totaling 420000 will be guaranteed by the lessee as principal and interest payments fall due.
