Atlanta reports Frank McDowell admitted to St Petersburg authorities that he killed his mother and father while they slept and started the Decatur fire that burned his sisters Marion and Willie Matee McDowell to death. Investigators cited strong evidence linking the boy to the arson and double homicide. The parents’ disbelief reportedly hindered prosecution.
Frank McDowell, 19, told investigators he killed his parents and two sisters in Georgia and Florida to expiate a past blasphemy. He admitted torching the Decatur, Georgia home that killed his sisters and said the Florida murders were timed to the anniversary of his sin.
Tifton February 21. Manager W Broeg of the Tifton Hatchery reports full capacity for the next two weeks with 3600 eggs a week. Eggs are placed in the big hen every Tuesday and reservations for March 4 and beyond are already made. Most eggs come from outside Tift county and he urges locals to reserve weeks in advance.
Official reports from 268 cities show building permits in January a year over year rise of 10 percent with the South posting a 25 percent gain, the West 23 percent and the East 17 percent while the Central region fell 13 percent. Roy D Moore and Louis H Brush owners of The Marion Star filed in U.S. District Court a 600000 suit for slander and libel against banker Frank A Vanderlip. Papers were served as Vanderlip had said there was a sale of The Marion Star by the late President Harding. He admitted no factual basis for the remarks before a Senate committee.
