Marriage of Miss Mary McTyier and Mr Wright in Plains

A large circle of friends witnessed the wedding of Miss Marylu McTyier to Clarence A. Wright of Tifton at one o'clock in the afternoon at the bride’s parents home near Plains. Rev W W Arnold of McDonough officiated. A salad and dessert reception followed. The couple left at five for their home in Tifton. Out of town guests included Mrs Lola Davis and Miss Susie Chapman of Americus and Mr T Wright and Mr Thornton of Tifton.

Planations Visited by Prison Inspector in Sumter County

Captain J M Burk of the state prison inspection board surveyed five large plan tations in Sumter county yesterday. The Huguenin plantation, two near DeSoto, part of Hooks place, and the Speer farm near the city were among those examined. Burk favored the lands and noted the convict farm near the city as well kept. The Prison Commission seeks four thousand acres in one block, and Sumter is poised to supply it.

Priars Plan to Relieve Congestion of Cities

Washington February 17 The Benedictine friars of the United States propose a plan to ease urban crowding by purchasing a large estate in Texas to build an abbey and a new town named St An. They will lay out 150 farms within two miles of the town center and attract farmers from congested areas. The settlement will include schools clubs and social facilities with expansions as population grows.

Miss Cottlow to appear in Americus Monday night

Miss Augusta Cottlow will perform in Americus Monday evening at Annie May Bell's studio as part of a five concert series organized by Miss J. Local music lovers have begun reserving seats well in advance. Cottlow has collaborated with conductors Seidl Thomas Stock Gericke Damrow and others and with famed quartets and soloists including Sembrich. Her Worcester Festival ovation and status as a leading interpreter of Edward MacDowell are noted.

Daring Gyglist Performs Double Leaped Ride at Fair

The Great Cosmopolitan Shows enjoyed favorable weather and busy crowds as Cyclone staged his double leap the gap trick from a seventy foot platform. He rode the incline then leaped gaps and landed successfully before continuing through Hampton Street. Night shows continued daily for the week. The Passion Play feature drew praise and ministers endorsement for a low price viewing.

Mir Gabbet and Miss Irvin Are Married

The marriage of Miss Reba Irvin of Washington Georgia to Mr Cecil Gabbett was celebrated at the bride’s home in Washington with social interest in Americus where both are well known. Child 18 Hidden Away From Police by Mother

Macon February 16 Officers went to take 6 year old Maud Mason from her mother over alleged immoral conditions but found the child missing this afternoon. Ordinary Wiley had been asked to remove the child and place her in an institution. The mother defied officers.
