In Rabun County Georgia a farmer Joseph Crampton and his daughter Sallie were killed when a bullet shattered a window and struck them. The suspected moonshine operator Andrew Wilborn is missing as authorities search the area for a possible lynching motive.
Detectives piece together a chain of evidence tying Jackson and Walling to Pearl Bryan's disappearance and murder. They traced her movements from Greencastle Indiana to Cincinnati then Kentucky highlands, with activity at the Herman hotel in Newart and a decapitation route near Fort Thomas Newport. Governor Bushnell plans to act on the requisition Tuesday and Sheriff Plummer will hold the suspects in Newport jail after transfer from Campbell County.
The body of 26 year old Elma Sheets was found beside Lake Erie and Western tracks in Muscle Ind. frozen in mud with six facial wounds and a left side bruise. Police suspect homicide as the victim was seen after 7 p.m. and no killer has been found. Son of Henry Sheets, a local dairy owner, he was a prominent citizen.
Avoests Kentucky February 17 Robert Laughlin who earlier said his house was burned by murderers now confesses to the killings He admits he killed his wife and niece to conceal the crime claiming he killed them with a poker while they slept He denies some details and apologizes for the blood on his shirt blamed on the coroner’s inquest to prevent lynching.
In Wasatxatox on Feb 17 Senator Davis of Minnesota argued that U S relations with Britain grow harder due to national development and social commerce. The Senate discussed the Dupont seating dispute in Delaware, with Mitchell presenting a majority view that Watson lacked governor power to sit in the joint assembly on May 9 1895.

A mob attacked Bob Williams after a railway shooting in Montgomery Alabama. Williams killed Police Officer John L Suggs and was captured by railroad workers 80 miles away. On the return train a lynch party seized him at a crossing and hanged him from a tree amid threats and gun signals. Police investigation follows.
