Two Lard Ean Stills Found By Sheriff
Sheriff Harvey and Deputy Summers hunted a farm in the 28th district and found a lard can still in a wood shed a bottle of moonshine liquor and 140 gallons of beer. They poured out the beer smashed the still and took Wes Clark and liquor to the city storing the liquor as evidence. Wes was jailed on bond set at 500 dollars. A few days earlier Jerry Gerson a colored tenant on Mia Mary Clays farm below De Soto faced a similar seizure a jar can still and a jug of liquor. He also posted bond.
