In Forest City North Carolina at noon Nelson Hamrick son of the police chief was killed and Ezell Hamrick fatally shot when the Hamrick brothers returned to Dock Bailey’s barber shop drunk and armed. Springfield Feb 13 A resolution inviting Carrie Nation to address the Illinois House was introduced by Rep Witt. Laughter greeted the measure as it asked the assembly to hear Nation Thursday Feb 14 at 2 PM, with it referred to licenses and then made a special order for Feb 27.
Secret orders went to two Ohio National Guard regiments to ready forces to stop a prize fight in Cincinnati Friday night. Commanding officers of the Fourth and Sixth regiments in Columbus prepared their men, while Governor Nash hinted at possible troop use if needed.
