Fine Art Display Attracts Large Crowds At 312 Lamar

Large crowds of women visited a free art display by the Singer Sewing Machine Company at 312 Lamar Street. Miss Marie A. Anderson of Richmond and T. M. Moore hosted a varied exhibit of embroidery and fancy work. Visitors receive a ticket for a chance at a souvenir drawing to be held Saturday.

Americus Social Season Delights Dazzle Visitors

Americus enjoys a bustling social week with visiting belles from distant states. Dr and Mrs George T Miller hosted a grand reception for Miss Electra Weekes of Talbotton, featuring Progressive Angling games, elegant gowns, and a lavish luncheon. Notables included Miss Georgia Glover, Miss Crawford of Athens, and Col. Walter K Wheatley guiding prizes. The Dodson home hosted a witty Cats essay and piano solos by Miss Babcock, while other socials spanned Florida excursions, Philharmonic Society plans, and Mattie Wheatley entertaining friends with a lively card and grab game banter.
